Lee Landey is a writer and musician born and based in Los Angeles. From 2013 to 2022 he played bass guitar for avant-rock outfit Wand, releasing six studio albums through the legendary Chicago record label Drag City Inc. From 2014’s psychedelic Ganglion Reef to 2019’s far-flung and expansive Laughing Matter, Wand toured relentlessly across North America, Europe and Asia. After millions of Spotify listens and hundreds of shows across the world, Wand has solidified a meaningful place in music magazines and the cultural moment.  

Lee has additionally released numerous recordings with his solo industrial project Oil Thief through various American and European labels, and toured extensively in both those territories.

In 2020 Lee released his debut collection of short fiction, The Long Morning, published by Los Angeles-based record label Chondritic Sound. He has published short fiction through a variety of literary outlets, as well as penning, producing and scoring the narrative podcast A Different City. He currently works as a copywriter for various digital projects, and composer for commercials, indie games, podcasts and short films.
